2025 Richmond Minority Advancement Scholarship Recipient

At Lifting Minorities, our mission is simple but powerful: to create access, opportunity, and upward mobility for students who have the talent and drive to succeed, but not always the resources or representation to make the journey easier. Every scholarship we award is an investment in potential—and the story of our latest Richmond Minority Advancement Scholarship recipient, Arianna Jordan, is a beautiful reflection of why this work matters.
Arianna is a proud graduate of Huguenot High School and a first-generation college student currently attending the University of Virginia, where she is studying International Relations. Her academic path is impressive, but what truly stands out is the determination, vision, and sense of purpose she brings with her every step of the way.
As a first-generation college student, Arianna is navigating unfamiliar territory—balancing rigorous coursework, new expectations, and the pressure of being the first in her family to pursue higher education. These challenges are not uncommon for the students we serve, and they are exactly why Lifting Minorities exists. We believe that a student’s background should never limit their future. Instead, it should be honored as a source of strength.
Arianna’s choice to study International Relations speaks volumes about her worldview and aspirations. She is deeply interested in understanding global systems, cultures, and policies—and how they intersect to shape opportunity and equity across borders. This global mindset aligns closely with the Lifting Minorities mission: empowering students to think beyond their circumstances and envision themselves as leaders, changemakers, and contributors on a broader stage.

The Richmond Minority Advancement Scholarship was created to support high-achieving minority students from the Richmond area who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to growth. Arianna embodies all three. Her journey from Huguenot High School to UVA is not just a personal achievement—it is a testament to what is possible when talent meets opportunity.
Scholarship support is about more than tuition assistance. It is about validation. It is about telling students like Arianna,
“You belong here. Your dreams are valid. Your future is worth investing in.”
With the support of this scholarship, Arianna can focus more fully on her studies, her professional development, and her long-term goals without the constant weight of financial uncertainty.
At Lifting Minorities, we measure impact not only in dollars awarded, but in lives uplifted. Arianna’s story represents the ripple effect of community support—how one scholarship can open doors, expand horizons, and inspire others who see themselves reflected in her success.
We are incredibly proud to support Arianna Jordan and to walk alongside her on this journey. Her achievements remind us why we do this work and reinforce our commitment to lifting the next generation of leaders.
Please join us in congratulating Arianna on this well-deserved honor. Her future is bright—and we are honored to be a part of it.
Arianna’s story is just the beginning. Together, we can continue to lift one, and in doing so, lift all.
