Every scholarship we award is an investment in potential—and the story of our latest Richmond Minority Advancement Scholarship recipient, Arianna Jordan, is a beautiful reflection of why this work matters.

Arianna is a proud graduate of Huguenot High School and a first-generation college student currently attending the University of Virginia, where she is studying International Relations. Her academic path is impressive, but what truly stands out is the determination, vision, and sense of purpose she brings with her every step of the way.

As a first-generation college student, Arianna is navigating unfamiliar territory—balancing rigorous coursework, new expectations, and the pressure of being the first in her family to pursue higher education. These challenges are not uncommon for the students we serve, and they are exactly why Lifting Minorities exists. We believe that a student’s background should never limit their future. Instead, it should be honored as a source of strength.

Arianna’s choice to study International Relations speaks volumes about her worldview and aspirations.
