The Lee A. Murphy Jr. Legacy Scholarship Fund provides assistance to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, leadership skills, financial need, and an expressed interest in a STEM-related field.

Up to $10,000

Base Criteria

• Be a Virginia resident

• Be a graduating high school senior

• Be accepted and pursue a degree at a four-year college or university in Virginia

• Pursue a degree in a STEM-related field

• Have at least a 3.0 GPA

• Demonstrate financial need

Guidelines

The scholarship will be dispersed in equal payments throughout the recipient's four-year program. Semester reviews and annual renewals will be performed. Students must maintain no lower than a 3.0 GPA.

Deadline

As a result of the FAFSA processing delays, we are extending the deadline from February 29, 2024 to March 16, 2024.

​

We will continue to monitor updates from the Department of Education regarding the FAFSA in case an additional extension is required.
