Our Focus Areas
Scholarships
Research confirms that financial instability prevents or derails college careers and despite a heavy student of color reliance on Pell Grants, those grants alone are not enough.
Professional Development
According to a 2021 article by the Society for Human Resource Management, Black individuals make up 13 percent of the U.S. population but account for only 8 percent of employees in professional roles.
Mentorship
Multiple studies confirm that mentorship directly impacts academic and career success for students of color.
Financial Literacy
The connection between financial literacy and financial wellness is well documented. Numerous studies confirm that the disparity is greatest among African Americans.
Lifting Minorities was incorporated in May 2021 and launched in May 2022.
